We received news today that the National Visa Center (NVC) cabled the approval for Mia's visa to China. It will take 2 weeks for the Consulate in China to process this and issue our Article 5, which we should receive on January 10th.
We will then be waiting for 1 last piece of paperwork - our Travel Approval (TA). TA's have been running 3 - 4 weeks after Article 5. Chinese New Years is Feb 3rd-8th, so we expect that our TA might not come until after that time - so maybe mid February.
We are tentatively planning to travel mid-March. This should leave plenty of wiggle room for our TA to get here. AND should allow for Corinne to travel with us to China (as well as Hollie), since this will fall over her Spring Break. She will still miss a week of college classes, but she has gotten tentative approval that they will work with her on this. :)
We are all getting excited, since it is starting to feel real!
BTW - Mia's foster sister Natalie, is being picked up this coming week by her forever family, the Reichenbachs. Their gotcha day is Monday, and we can't wait to follow EVERY detail of their trip. We sent a care package with them for Mia, hoping they might get to visit the girls' foster home. (Mia is still at the foster home and Natalie was transferred back to the orphanage 2 weeks ago.) We are praying for both Natalie and Mia, as this is the first time since they were very little girls that they will not be living together. - Here is the link for the Reichenbach's blog if you want to follow their trip http://www.ourjourneytochina.com
