Well the heat index here yesterday was 105 and Lydia had a fever of 104. Not a good combo! We took her to the doctor and she has strep. The good thing about strep is that the antibiotics have you feeling better in no time. The bad thing is that it is SO contagious. I'm wondering who will get it next.
We ALSO took Josiah for some odd looking bumps on his chin, arm, and tummy. The doctor wasn't sure what these were - maybe bug bites. BUT ... he did check Josiah's ears while we were there and found a bright orange bead stuck in his ear. I have no idea how or when this got in his ear, especially since we don't have any orange beads at our house. The pediatrician tried to get it out but just pushed it farther in. So then we made a trip to the ENT for a little extraction procedure.
And Hollie thought Isaiah put a rock up his nose yesterday. I'm hoping that is NOT the case. Time will tell ... I'm thinking we are going to fund a NICE vacation for our doctor this year.

hey....maybe if he puts in a swimming pool at his house, he will place a nice plaque with your name on it beside the diving board;)
Oh my goodness... a bead? a rock? strep?
Sounds like you are taking it all in stride. Thanks for posting about the latest with your kiddos. Can't wait to go get ours!
Have you considered the bumps could be scabies?? Doctors in the U.S. are not used to seeing these bumps and they often are mis-diagnosed. Our daughter Sarah had scabies when we brought her home from Guatemala and it wasn't correctly diagnosed for 2 mos.!!! We had to treat the whole family and our house. It also takes several weeks for the bumps to appear after getting the mites. Just a thought for you hoping to save you the headache we went through.
Seems like the Lord is blessing you with many stories that will be funny in the future : )
ps. if you all start getting "bumps"too, they may appear different than your son's because they looked different on Sarah than they did me.
sherry, thanks for the info about reading comments while in et. i figured it out!
